CorusFit WiEKG and SensorWear
The heart of the CorusCardio concept is CorusFit WiEKG, a wireless real-time EKG monitoring technology. This revolutionary technology changes how preventive and rehabilitation programmes and methods can be applied successfully among people at risk for CAD or those already diagnosed with CAD.
The main difference between CorusFit WiEKG and traditional EKG measuring devices is that patients can move freely during physical exercise. CorusFit WiEKG thus enables patients to engage in a great variety of different exercise methods, including ones that require uninhibited movements, such as strength training. The more varied exercise a patient can engage in, the greater it enhances the progressive development of their rehabilitation. CorusFit WiEKG also allows the exercise instructor to monitor up to eight patients simultaneously.
During exercise, a patient wears the CorusFit SensorWear shirt, which is equipped with comfortable, machine-washable textile sensors. The WiEKG Measurement Unit, placed in the pocket of the Sensor Wear, transmits the EKG data to the monitoring computer. This enables real-time monitoring of a patient’s EKG and immediately notifies the instructor of possible arrhythmia or ischemia during exercise. The patient’s EKG data is stored in the monitoring computer for further study.
The CorusFit WiEKG system is a CE approved class IIa Medical Device according to Council Directive 93/42/EEC
